Nourishing Summer Facial

A healthy, effective and effortlessfacial routine doesn’t have to be expensive.

Most of the ingredients you’ll find in your kitchen.

From an Ayurvedic perspective summer is the season of pitta, characterised by heat and dryness. It is bright, hot, sharp, intense, and penetrating.

During summer our skin is exposed to the sun, salty water and wind.

Therefore a nurturing and nourishing facial skin care is important to keep our skin healthy and glowing.

This simple and easy routine cultivates your Ayurvedic beauty regime.

Shift your attention to natural products you can even easily prepare yourself.

Follow these 3 steps to get an incredible summer glow!

Step 1

If your skin is dry you can use a gentle scrub:

That way you remove dry skin, dirt from pores and give your face an incredible glow.

Foe my skin, usually once a week is enough. Play around how often works best for you.

This scrub helps to remove makeup, dirt and dead skin, and leaves you absolutely radiant.


  • 1/2 cup of unpasteurized honey

  • 1/4 tbsp organic sea salt

  • 2 tbsp organic coarse sugar

  1. Mix all ingredients together and take out a spoon full for your face.

  2. Afterwards use slightly warm water to rinse off and finish wiping your face with soft cloth dumped i warm water.

You can store this in a container. Put it in the fridge and you’ll have an extra cooling effect.

Step 2

Chickpea Facial Mask

This mask deeply nourishes your face! Exactly what's needed during a hot summer.

The Chickpea Facial Mask is easy to prepare yourself.

This mask does wonders. It tightens the skin and has a rejuvenating effect as you will see!


  • 1 tbsp chickpea flour

  • 1 tbsp water

  1. Create a smooth paste. 

  2. Apply to your face.

  3. Allow it to dray and then add a little bit of water and massage it in.

  4. Afterwards gently wash it off as you have done with thenscrub.

In general once a week should be enough.

Step 3

Soothing Oil Moisturizer

Now your face is clean and perfectly prepared to absorb a nourishing moisturiser!

As an option you can keep your face slightly wet and sprinkle some Rose Water on it.

Rose water is balances and restores skin's PH level, helps tighten pores. It’s very refreshing and you can use it any time during the day- even on top of your make up.

Make your own or simple use coconut oil, almond oil or olive oil.

For your own glowing mixture:

  • 1/2 cup each olive oil and coconut oil

  • 5 drops jasmine oil

  • 4 drops lime oil

  • 4 drops rose oil

  1. Mix all oils together.  

  2. Massage this oil into your face or body after your skin care regime or in the place of lotion!

You can the mixture store in a container that allows you to either pump it out or distribute it by drops.
