WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER USING CLEAN SKINCARE & MAKEUP!

I have worked in the beauty industry for 20 years. Typically, as a makeup artist, the focus is only on the end result.

On the set of a film or a photoshoot, the only thing that counted was the results of my work.

I chose the most professional products that do the job when it comes to long-lasting, covering, blending, and transforming a person's face to whatever was requested.

Back then, organic makeup products were few, and the results we were able to achieve with them weren’t great.

Luckily this has changed tremendously! Clean beauty products are widely available and have hugely improved. They are an important part of today's beauty industry.

Just like the food we eat, what we apply on our skin goes directly into the body.

Both can be either harmful or beneficial to our wellbeing.

It’s important to use cruelty-free products that don’t contain harmful hormones and toxins. Skincare and makeup should give great results, be nourishing for the skin, and healthy for your body!

Clean skincare is becoming a real movement that many companies have noticed. We should approach these with caution, as some started greenwashing their products without actually changing a thing!

The skin is our biggest organ. Depending on the air pollution around us, our skin drinks in whatever we apply to it.

If you can't eat it, don't put it on your skin.

If you want to integrate more natural beauty products, start simple.

Use organic, unroasted sesame oil, coconut oil, or grapeseed oil from your kitchen and give yourself a nice warming facial massage. You can use almost everything you have in your kitchen and turn it into a mask, moisturizer, or body scrub.

Take more time to clean, massage, and nourish your skin, your face, and your body. It will instantly raise your feeling of worthiness.

Over the past months, I have changed to only using clean organic skincare.

Working with oils has especially changed how my skin looks and feels.

After dealing with eczema and extremely dry skin it now feels and looks nourished, flawless, and soft - most of the time ;-).

Try a daily facial oil massage and your skin will look fresher and glowy. You will glow!

I am also decluttering my makeup products and have exchanged almost all my makeup products to organic and clean.

The quality and variety of textures and colors are amazing.

Some companies even offer refills and try to avoid plastic packaging. .

Using only the best products for your skin - and the best doesn’t mean the most expensive one! - is pure self-care. You deserve only the best on your skin!

Why you should consider only using organic, clean skincare and makeup products.

To name just a few:

  • Organic ingredients are, by definition, pesticide- and GMO -free

  • The antioxidants found in natural plant ingredients are still widely considered to be the most powerful skincare ingredients

  • Synthetic ingredients may have properties to help boost your skin, but some may also be toxic

These ingredients used in conventional skincare and makeup are considered toxic and should be avoided:

  • Benzoyl peroxide

  • Synthetic FD&C colors and dyes

  • Propylene glycol ( PG ) and butylene glycol

  • Diethanolamine ( DEA ), monoethanolamine ( MEA ) and triethanolamine ( TEA )

  • Methyl-, butyl-, and propylparaben

  • Sodium lauryl sulfate ( SLS ) and sodium laureate sulfate ( SLES )

  • Dioxin

  • Polyethylene glycol ( PEG )

  • Avobenzone

  • Phthalates

  • Triclosan

  • DMDM hydantoin and imidazolidinyl urea

Please note that artificially created ingredients, that are aimed to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles can be a powerful combination with natural ingredients, as long as they aren’t toxic.
