How can we do the necessary and important things while still staying at ease and keeping in balance?
This important question we should ask ourselves. It helps us to notice early on if we lose our balance on the way to burning ourselves out.
This is a continuous practice of checking in, adjusting, and recalibration. It is a journey - not a destination.
Here are some tips that might be useful for being productive, sharing your gifts, contributing to the world around you, and still, staying at ease & light:
Self-care is not selfish!
Self-care will lead you toward creating a life full of wellness and passion so that you can show up fully and authentically and bring your gifts into this world.
Resting is not being lazy
Resting is restoring your nervous system and therefore a non-negotiable part of your day.
Doing less is living according to your values. You know best what is important to you and what needs to be done and whatnot.
Ask for help
We were never meant to do it all on our own.
Humor and Laughter
Let's not take ourselves too seriously all the time.
We can practice especially this on our mat. Can't reach your toes? So what! falling out of a tree balancing pose? Who cares? But more important - Am I still able to enjoy and embrace myself the way I am right now?
And last but not least - Letting go of perfectionism.
Or saying it a bit differently - letting go of your armor that gives us the illusion that if we get it done perfectly (whatever that means anyway) we are not going to get hurt.
Your daily yoga practice and/ or at ease routine helps you to get to know yourself on a very deep level. The objective is that judgment and the need to fix yourself are no longer required. Instead, you realize that you are that ease and lightness and anything else you wish for.
It's a journey - not a destination. And it should be done with curiosity.
So, come back on your mat over and over again.
